Lower consumption is a lever that has not been touched since President Carter. Heaven forbid we ask people to cut back or consolidate trips. If everyone cut back 30% it would be a huge benefit.

It’s a fairly simple act that may have a direct impact on national fuel prices; and certainly a budget savings immediately to consumers.

However I wouldn’t expect participation by ‘The Freedom Caucus’ of voters who are mindlessly lapping DC to protest expired COVID mandates…

Falsely drive up prices claiming shortage in order to support arguments for more drilling leases here.

As Jen reminded reporters, there are thousands of oil and gas leases going undeveloped.

On the bright side, hopefully this price increase will help with climate change. People will change peoples driving habits by carpooling (which we're very poor at) and lowering discretionary driving. And hopefully keep it that way.
