Arizona ammunition company pledges to send a million bullets to Ukraine's army

An ammunition company based in Scottsdale, Arizona, is offering to donate one million bullets to the Ukraine armed forces.

Ammo, which produces high-performance ammunition and components, said it would support Ukraine in its fight for independence and freedom, following the unprovoked invasion by Russia.

In a statement released on the company's website, it said: "Ammo will formally offer to manufacture ammunition to donate to the Ukraine Armed Forces as they fight for their country's continued independence."

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a briefing the day after the invasion, that its citizens were defending their land and the future of their children. He also called on "every friend of Ukraine" to "come over" and help defend the country.

and Czechoslovakia. These countries manufacture the same guns the UKR are using so the ammo is right there. No long supply line and very little transport issues across the pond.
It would be faster and less expensive. YMMV
I'm just an arm chair general with a magnificent command of the obvious..

13. From what I've seen almost all the "small" rifles are the AK-74 which shoots the 5.45x39

It's a round similar to the US 5.56x45 round. You can tell by the reddish brown magazines. Ak 47 mags are dark almost black. Both the 5.45 and the 5.56 are a nasty bit of kit ...
And yes I watch the History channel too much..😝

15. You are correct. I am a little "old school" in thinking

I assumed that they were making 7.62 x 39, AK ammo, but that may not be the case. Ukraine still carries AK-47s in their military inventories, but usually for training and rear echelon troops. There is no reason that the ammo maker could not be making 5.45.

I noticed today that Gunbroker.com, probably the largest gun American gun seller, to private parties, is also taking credit for that million rounds of donated ammo. Of course this brings the question of what it the NRA doing? What they always do, begging for money to save themselves.
