Are UN rules are set up so that it's damned near impossible to boot Russia out...

...of its permanent seat on the UN security council? I'm pretty sure that Russia can unilaterally veto its own ejection.

Anyone know of a way to turn Russia into just another country with no special standing at the UN? Russia clearly no longer deserves the power it currently has.

technically, they are no longer the original signatory, which was the USSR, but that ship has kind of sailed. If we didn't kick them out in the 90's when the Soviet Union fell apart, it's kind of late now.

China, India and even Israel tend toward neutrality. Syria, North Korea, Belarus, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba support Russia. Even Mexico does not want to invoke sanctions.
