at Ukraine as if it was his personal play toy. The US, due to the weakness and corruption shown by Trump, signalled it would not protect it. That led to Putin's decision to start to plan to invade it.

Exactly, the US helped Putin with Ukraine.

The GOP loves the idea of permanent total power in the US and control of all US financial assets. Just like Putin has in Russia.

So the GOP isn't just helping Putin because he pays them and helps get them "elected." They agree with his political philosophy.
