Many of the young Russian soldiers in Ukraine understand...

...that Putin is lying to them.

The people of Ukraine should open their doors to those that wish to leave Putin's lies behind and join in their revolution.

If they are going to fight and die, then it should be for a just cause. Freedom and democracy is an important and just cause.

Don't join with the war criminals.

Leave this war. Do not die for Putin and his lies.

In my opinion, this is a message that should be spread to the Russian Army.

Ignoring for a moment whether they were ever really going to pay that, AND the worthlessness of rubles for the foreseeable future...

The US, EU should offer the same $50K -- plus the very great bonus of not dying -- plus residency/asylum to any Russian soldier who goes AWOL and surrenders themselves to Ukrainian forces or EU border guards/immigration. At that rate, one could "buy" 100,000 Russian soldiers for $5B. That's a lot of money, yes, but that's also a very good deal, imo.
