The cost of a new 3/4 ton pickup truck is probably about the average yearly salary of many of the buyers. I suspect some of them will still be paying the payments after the truck is in the junkyard. If you really go all out and buy a King Ranch pickup you are talking damn near $60,000.00. It is a high price to prove your manhood.

The bigger the pickup, the better. They sometimes require two parking spaces because the testosterone toys must be bigger than other trucks. I think American carmakers will regret their decision to stop making regular cars in favor of SUVs and trucks. An economical compact would be a big seller now. And they’re forcing anyone who wants a regular sedan to buy a Toyota or Hyundai. So much for brand loyalty. A lot of us older folks have trouble getting into a truck or SUV and prefer a sedan.
