Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr indicated that he could vote for Donald Trump again despite resigning from the former president's administration over lies about the 2020 election.

During an interview on NBC's Today Show, host Savannah Guthrie asked the former attorney general if he would vote for a Democrat in order to stop Trump from regaining the presidency. "Liz Cheney has said he is not fit to serve and should not be near the Oval Office again," Guthrie noted. "Do you agree with that?"

"Well, I certainly have made it clear, I don't think he should be our nominee and I'm going to, you know, support somebody else for the nomination," Barr said. "If your choice is Donald Trump or whoever is running on the Democratic side, would you vote for him?" the NBC host pressed.

"Because I believe that the greatest threat to the country is the progressive agenda being pushed by the Democratic Party, it's inconceivable to me that I wouldn't vote for the Republican nominee," Barr replied.

The Democratic Part IS DEFINITELY the greatest threat to the Conservative Agenda. The agenda that Nixon wanted but could not acheive, that began in earnest with Ronald Reagan.

Conservatives want to build an completely hierarchical structure to society where Wealthy White, Protestant Christian Men are considered the ultimate authority and where all others, in one way or another, serve to promote that hierarchy. They believe that this is the "Natural" hierarchy, because it existed in the time of Monarchy. While Monarchy as a system of government failed, conservatives never stopped believing in the "Natural Order" of things, just that the correct people were not at the top of that hierarchy. You need to understand how deeply those at the top of the Conservative movement believe this. They are closer to White Russian oligarchs than they are to the average, middle class American, especially if that American is not White. A White, middle class American is useful to them as muscle, a bureaucrat, etc... but a White Russian oligarch is a kindred spirit.

Progressive ideology is built on the idea that while people are not inherently equal in what they know and what they can do, that we share an equal dignity and that we all deserve to have some level of power and autonomy. The job of the government in progressive ideology is to serve as the structure, and protector of those who who need more protection than others. To a conservative, that means that the government violates the "natural order". It allows people who should NEVER be at the top, like Barack Obama, to "sneak" in.

They would rather have a complete fucking idiot like Trump, be in charge and destroy the economy and make us a laughing stock around the world, than to have someone they think is "of inferior stock" like the brilliant President Obama or equally brilliant Hillary Clinton. They see President Biden as a traitor, as a White man with power, who is advocating for women and minorities to be allowed the opportunity to rise to the top of society. Much like a rabid White Racist, would see a White person who married a Black person as a "race traitor".

This is a serious ideology. They want us to think that it is hyperbole, but the reality is that Progressives are definitely a MAJOR THREAT to the world order that Conservatives want.

Yes, to them, White liberals are race traitors. I think they hate us the most. I have a couple of rabid right-wingers in my family & most of what they post/say is hatred toward the libs. They live to "own the libs." Oh and they're angry. Very angry. I'm not sure why. They seem to have nice lives—they're college educated, their children are college educated, they own their own homes in nice communities, they travel & go out. I know there's more to assessing happiness than just those things, but as a group, the cult have it pretty good. The insurrectionists were able to take time off work & travel to DC. They wore & carried new Trump gear. They have money for big trucks & guns. Despite charges against them, many of them were allowed to go on vacation afterwards, but somehow they're oppressed.

It isn't like the idea is unnatural in human history. Powerful people of a certain type have always wanted power to remain in the hands of people who look and think like them.

Look at American History. After the Civil War, during Reconstruction, Black men were given the right, not only to vote, but to hold elected office. Look at what that simple idea sparked in the South, after 400,000 Americans and 300,000 traitors had died in a bloody war. The KKK and other organizations terrorized the South and caused problems until in 1876, during the election of Hayes (along with other factors) the support for correcting the ills brought on by White Supremacy and slavery were unceremoniously terminated.

Black people were forcibly or illegally removed from office and subjugated with the tacit agreement of the government.

So, yes, there is an element that would throw democracy away, easily, for the "Right People" being in charge.
