Thinking out loud . . . . A "Republican" tactic the Democrats might want to consider:

Price Controls on gas and home heating gas and oil.

Limit gas prices at the pump to prewar levels. Let's say something like $3.00/gal . . . whatever. Pick a number.

Will the GQP senators oppose this?

better for them. I think that is the reason they are pushing to stop imports of Russian oil. It's the popular short time position and it will pay off in November.
