"SNIP.......

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is voicing new reluctance about moving too swiftly on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court, saying there’s “no need to rush,” the New York Times reports.

Goddard:

If Republicans on the Judiciary Committee back Grassley, they could boycott Jackson’s confirmation and theoretically derail it. Republicans are currently employing this tactic in the Banking Committee to block President Biden’s Federal Reserve Board nominees.

Pretty sure he was busy confirming Amy Coney Barrett while RBG's body was still warm.

I wonder which the old white men's club fears more. That KBJ is black, or a woman.

They want it down to two liberals, and eventually none.

This is part of ending American democracy and establishing American Putinism.

The Republican party never forgave Earl Warren for One Man, One vote, The Miranda ruling, Brown v. Board, and the Voting and Civil Rights Acts.

The GOP is as Pro Authoritarian Anti-Constitution as it gets. They're the party who chooses to Not-See Fascism.

If they have to change the rules top push it through, do they have the power to do that? There is absolutely no reason for Senate Democrats to cooperate with the Republicans.

In the event of an evenly split committee, the senate majority leader can move a nominee out of committee with a majority vote of the senate as a whole. Or something to that effect.

Phucking sick of the GQP’s hypocrisy on every issue. As noted above Grassley is 88 so there is only a few more yrs till he’s gone but the sad fact is the junior GQP members (the next generation) are just as, if not more extreme and irrational as the seniors.
