"SNIP.......
Democrats have begun to pick up the pieces of President Joe Bidens stalled domestic agenda, working in concert with the White House to rebrand it as a push to cut costs for families and zero in on a package that can win the decisive vote of Sen. Joe Manchin, the mutinous West Virginia centrist, NBC News reports.
......SNIP"

(12,954 posts)Its one of the many things Einstein never said.
Nor is it remotely the definition of insanity.
It might be an OCD symptom.
But yeah this fucking nuts.
I had always heard the Einstein thing and used it.
Go figure!
I'll have to google now to find out who did say it
Not worth my time to argue about something so inconsequential. Honestly...

(2,488 posts)arguing I found it interesting. I did google it and Einstein was being paraphrased by someone

(102,112 posts)Albert Einstein"... I guess you didn't read that either.
FYI to you both: 1. "witticism" does not imply "literal definition"
2. "usually attributed to" does not equate to absolute certainty for the attribution.
3. attacking my post is rude and uncalled for--especially when claiming that which is not
included nor implied. To do the latter is dishonest.

(10,037 posts)I think he is just being paid to stall or stop it and when they knock down one of his objections he just comes up with a new one. That is the question he needs to be asked. Are you going to stop this no matter what?

(26,044 posts)It should be obvious by now that Manchin doesn't negotiate in good faith...and, even if we can reach an agreement with him that he won't renege on as soon as it's introduced, odds are that Sinema will immediately oppose it.
