I am noticing this growing trend. First, US tells citizens to leave Russia (duh.) Then, Britain tells the banks in Russia to close. Now, Russia is telling its citizens to return home.
Is this just a coincidence? Is this, tit for tat? I am wondering if it is finally prep for something both sides know is about to happen.
I'm just nervous.

(2,167 posts)It would certainly indicate that having neither your ass nor your money on the line there is good for anyone.
And, aren't they trying to prevent their citizens from fleeing to Finland? People in Russia seem to know what's going on.
I think that Putin could be taken out, unless he really is living in a bunker. He has bitten off more than he can chew. Now, he has to figure out how to get out of it.

(6,514 posts)plus, other foreigners are coming to fill in the ranks in Ukraine. Russia is apparently attempting to hire Syrians to fight for his side. So, I dunno. Just seems like a trend.
Heck, I wouldn't go back to Russia! I'd stay wherever I was, or move on to another country that might be better. But, I wouldn't return. That would make me a refugee, too, but then, that would be better than dying for Putin.

(53,771 posts)At first it was just Hitler invading Poland allegedly for more living space. Chamberlain flew to Munich in '39 and cut a deal with Hitler, he thought, for just another piece of land, of Czechoslovakia. "Peace is at hand," he declared.
Wrong. Hitler was not sated and Britain and France declared war and the rest is history. I hope we're not repeating all of that with these talks with Putin over his demands. And now vets from other countries are being drawn in on both sides. It's scary.

Do get cash & print out your bank statements! Who knows what the mad man has in store for the world?
