Johnson, Cruz to meet with trucker convoy Tuesday in DC

Republican Sens. Ron Johnson (Wis.) and Ted Cruz (Texas) will meet with truckers from the "People’s Convoy" protest movement on Tuesday “to discuss the harmful effects of President Biden’s vaccine mandates," they said Monday.

The convoy, which has staked out in the Washington, D.C., area since last week, is calling for an “end the State of Emergency that led to overreaching mandates.”

The specific goals of the truckers is unclear. Most federal coronavirus restrictions are no longer in place, and, like many other localities, Washington earlier this month lifted its indoor mask mandate.

This trucker convoy is not about mandates. It is a RW political rally to keep the RWers together in believing that they are supporting democracy while they are actually opposing it by following leaders like Johnson and Cruz, among others.

It is a RW political revival movement to keep their followers stirred up over several RW issues. It is a newer version of the supposedly "grass roots" Tea Party, a regrouping of RW populism.

When it was announced that a bus load of truckers were going to meet with Congress I wondered if it was the usual suspects and that appears to be the case. They are taking bus to protect their trucks. There rides around the Beltway have gone without much notice so some are getting desperate for more attention for their "cause", whatever it is? By the way, shame on MSM for bringing Cruz on Squawk Box this morning to spout his anti-Biden drivel.
