since it signed a pact with Putin. China is helping Russia with its financial sanctions as well as buying its oil.

It would be nice to translate what was said.

They are there to act as spin doctors. Lending a hand at feeding the propaganda machine. To what end, who knows. I don't think it's a good thing.

Their stories will be written for them, and passed through several committees before being aired.

Their main purpose is to observe russian military tactics up close, and both gauge a potential enemy and learn what works in this type of warfare.

China has little recent experience in attacking and fighting a well entrenched enemy. They are looking to taiwan, and trying to establish how they will best achieve a victory and what to avoid.

They are likely learning a lot.
