So the exchange on Facebook (gas prices) went like this.

Original post

Me: Worst public health disaster ever and over 900,000 people are dead because of one person’s frail ego…just in case anyone needs a reminder

Response from someone I have no idea who they are:
you hate the last president so much, you are gonna be a broke bum because your ego gets you off so much with who you voted for. Tragic. Bum brain.

Me: No, some of us know the difference between a dumpster fire and tiki torches.

Remote work or no work.

No traveling.

The transportation sector suffered most, with economic lockdowns and travel restrictions reducing demand for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel consumption by 15 percent in 2020. U.S. jet fuel use during Thanksgiving was about half of the 2019 volume. Overall, jet fuel consumption fell by 38 percent, gasoline by 13 percent and diesel by 7 percent in 2020.

Domestic oil production is currently at an all-time high, and while oil company shills are pressing to open wilderness and national park areas for exploration and drilling, our good friends in the petroleum industry are sitting on more than 9,000 permits that they haven't done anything with.

As the Good Book says, "Come, let us reason together." Gas prices began rising out of all proportion to the crisis in Ukraine, while the gasoline that had been refined using cheaper oil hadn't even been delivered to local stations. Why do you suppose the price jumped like that? Could it be oil company greed? Keep an eye on oil company profits for the first quarter of 2022. Who made a killing and while you were paying through the nose for gas?

Which I can't figure out. But:

First Saudis decided to force out US frackers, by driving the price down, and it worked. Then the Russians and Saudis decided to compete and forced the price even lower. All of this was during TFG's reign of terror. He didn't do anything to effect the price of oil.
