2. The 169,000 member Ukrainian Armed Forces are not the Taliban.

I wish people would start acknowledging the heroic fight the highly trained and professional Ukrainian Armed Forces have been displaying.

What is sobering is that no one is reporting the number of Ukrainian military losses.
That has contributed to the public underestimating that desperate peril the Ukrainian nation and people are actually in.

Ukraine is fighting for its very existence, President Zelensky has made that repeatedly clear.

5. Have you seen any reported estimates of Ukrainian losses by any western news sources?

it's sobering when I look and see nothing reported.

With the way war works...

If the Russians have lost, let's say 3000... (the avg of the DoD estimate) then the UKA, being on the defensive... has probably lost half that... maybe less, like 1000?

8. I think the ratio is in the opposite direction, or it would be being reported.

The fact that nothing is mentioned makes me think the Ukrainian losses are significantly heavier.

I think they don't want to lie to the public, that would be bad PR when the truth came out.

So they report, as you said, nothing at all.

Also, I believe that much of the Ukrainian losses would be due to the 670 Russian missile strikes where they suffer no casualties themselves.

12. Usually, an attacker takes a lot more losses than a defender.

No reason to believe otherwise in this case, I think.

14. Maybe in the past, but many losses are due to the 670 Russian missile strikes.

And the Russians suffer no casualties from those attacks.

So, the fact that nothing is being reported makes me think that the Ukrainian losses have been significantly higher.

Tragically.

9. UKR actually reports the number as "losses" not KIA.

A lot of translators are interpreting that as "killed" but the figure includes estimates of wounded, and captured.
