Gas and Covid.

My personal mileage has gone down a lot over the past 2 years. My truck's good for a fill-up a 4-5 weeks. Thankfully, I don't need to use a lot of it, I imagine that this is the case for a lot of drivers, especially already on "working from home" status.

Perhaps not so fast, back to commuter work?

Its pretty much a manufactured crisis to hurt Biden. If it had doubled or tripled since 1980 sure - that would be newsworthy - but the same price as 1980? And cheaper than 2008? How is that even newsworthy?

3. I know it was a damned privilege to work from home, and get stuff delivered, but during the past

two years there were long stretches when we had to make a schedule to ensure we were driving our cars enough, a little bit on a regular basis just to make sure everything was in working order. One of our cars went over six months between gas tank refillings.

And even with going back to work (admittedly another privilege, short commutes) our driving is no where near back to "normal." We aren't going on trips to hike or camp or sight-see, we aren't going out at night to restaurants or movies or sporting events or concerts, we aren't going to relatives' houses for holiday or birthday dinners. Even after going back to work, all of the other driving is still kaput.
