Russian and Ukraine Foreign ministers to meet tomorrow

From Politico Playbook PM:

Russia touted “very important” upcoming negotiations Thursday, which will mark the first time since the invasion that the Ukrainian and Russian foreign ministers have met face to face. A top aide to Ukrainian President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY told Bloomberg TV that Ukraine was also open to discussing a declaration of neutrality, but it would need security guarantees, and it wouldn’t give up any territory.

as a bargaining chip--maybe there are discussions behind the scenes, like the US or Poland won't send the planes if there is progress made on talks? Or am I just fantasizing here, and it is what it looks like (like we don't have a real workable plan at all with the planes and we just showed our asses?)

Call with @SecBlinken on further steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Grateful to the U.S. for the new package of tough sanctions on Russia. Pressure must be elevating until Russia stops its brutal aggression and barbaric war crimes against Ukrainians.

ON THE OTHER HAND,

That Lavrov motherfucker is still a smarmy, lying, goddamn know-it-all, and I’m not going to post his picture for the billionth time because fuck that guy.

I can imagine Russia telling Ukraine either accept our offer or deal with the consequences. Firstly, how can any sane person or country trust Russia? They continually break agreements, contracts and or promises.

And while these negotiations are on going, Russia will still be bombing Ukraine.

And send Putin the Russian FM's head in a box. "In other words, Mr. Putin, NO!."
