1. Their greed knows no bounds

Born and raised in Grand Rapids MI, there is no way to quantify how cravenly greedy that family is. Every charitable donation they make earns a return, they are the biggest grifters going and it never stops, there is no moral compass, they just want more more more.

Even their children's hospital turned into a profit center for them. They put their name on an arena downtown and in exchange earned the arena's management rights permanently. It goes on and on, they've perfected the art of giving in order to turn a profit. It's beyond evil.

This is a family whose religion tells them they are rich because god favors them and poor people are poor because they're sinners.

I admit I got “talked into” buying some of their stuff in the early 90’s for a friend. Didn’t join but sat through a presentation. Just wasn’t interested but was nice and bought a few products. Wasn’t impressed to be honest.

Is the profit motive for a consumer products company?
Revenues will drop, profit will shrink & repatriating the cash will be extremely difficult.
Greed doesn't explain it, because there's no real money to be made.
Given who runs the company, stupidity is a more likely explanation.

Loved the products and was building my own Organization.

What made me walk away? After Rich DeVos died, I became aware of Dick's politics and values. I miss the products. But glad I walked away.

Old man Rich was a Compassionate Capitalist. He often would say, "When you have something to believe in and someone to believe in you, anything is possible." The current generation of DeVos have wandered away from that. It's all about them.

When Jennifer Granholm went after him in their debate. He had obviously never had anyone challenge him. And as we know, JG doesn't mince her words. He was so flustered he couldn't even respond.

She beat him like a drum in the debate and the subsequent gubernatorial election.

He pretty much disappeared after that. And we all know what a disaster Aunt Betty was as Education Secretary.
