Can we please recognize the ICC now, so Putin can be prosecuted?

Putin needs to be prosecuted for war crimes. And in order for that to happen, it would be great if the USA recognized the authority of the International Criminal Court.

Russia would still not join, most likely, but the official backing of the United States would strengthen the legitimacy of the ICC and make it more likely that Putin could be prosecuted at some future time.

We need to get it done. Quit protecting our own war criminals such as Cheney/Bush.

so that its own officials can't be prosecuted. Think of Kissinger, Rumsfeld, and many others further back in history. I'm not saying they should be protected. I'm saying it's why the US isn't a signatory to the treaty.

It was close to a million people - see what happens when rule of law is ignored by one side or the other
