He didn't lose his mind by killing off his political opponents?

He didn't lose his mind when he poisoned, imprisoned, or killed those with whom he disagrees?

He didn't lose his mind when he joined with the butcher Assad in Syria?

No, Putin didn't lose his mind over Ukraine. Putin lost his mind well before then, when he resigned himself to spreading evil throughout his sphere of influence, and then beyond. But it is all within the context of history: Russian leaders seem to aspire toward gaining and maintaining power through violence and murder. Putin is no different. The next Russian leader will likely do the same, but what's certain is that Putin's not producing for his oligarchs and certainly not for the Russian commoner, no matter the strength of his propaganda machine (i.e., his closed system of lies.). So... he will be removed as the Russian nation goes broke. Russians can't drink oil and gas, and the oligarchs can't siphon billions off the top of Russia's treasury if there are no longer billions to siphon.

Russia's elite are now coming to the assessment that rebuilding Russia's economy (so that they can steal more money) isn't in the cards for years and possibly decades. And keeping Putin in power will only make it worse. And Russia has no mechanism for a peaceful transfer of power. So you know what THAT means.

The taking of Crimea and the weaving of a web of energy dependence on Europe were effective tactical moves. I don't know about 'crazy' but a combination of being a bubble of sycophants and the ravages of age could explain a lot. The Putin of 2000 would probably have not done this, or have done it more effectively.

At one point I would have said that I "respected" him in the same way I respect a shark or mafioso; do not fuck with at your peril, but he's 69 and, while there are many sharp people that age, there are many who are suffering cognitive decline at that age, too.

They scream about cancel culture when we decide they are too odious to talk to, listen to or put up with yet their culture has been cancel culture since it's inception.

They are still burning books and they are proud of it as they banish anti fascist literature. When they feel like it, they put on their vests, carry their guns around and cancel peoples lives. The worst offenders become heroes and are invited to their rallies.

When they went for the Southern Strategy, it was a move to collect the most violent and hateful and encourage them to support their causes.

A New Report Adds Evidence That Trump Was a Russian Asset
He helped Putin manipulate the U.S. election in 2020, as he did in 2016.

Donald Trump was a tool in a long-running Russian campaign to weaken the United States. That’s been documented in Republican-led investigative reports, and now it has been updated with new evidence, thanks to the U.S. Intelligence Community’s assessment of the 2020 election. The report, drafted by the CIA, the FBI, and several other agencies, was released in unclassified form on Tuesday, but it was presented in classified form on Jan. 7. In other words, it was compiled, written, and edited during Trump’s administration. It destroys his lies about the election, and it exposes him as a Russian asset.

As to Russia, the report leaves no doubt: In 2020, as in 2016, “President Putin authorized, and a range of Russian government organizations conducted, influence operations” to help Trump and hurt his Democratic opponent. For example, “Shortly after the 2018 midterm elections, Russian intelligence cyber actors attempted to hack organizations primarily affiliated with the Democratic Party.” Then, in late 2019, Russia’s military intelligence service, the GRU, “conducted a phishing campaign against subsidiaries of Burisma holdings, likely in an attempt to gather information related to President Biden’s family.” Throughout the 2020 election, agents “connected to the Russian Federal Security Service,” FSB, planted negative stories about Biden. Internet operatives working for the Kremlin, including the troll farm that had boosted Trump in 2016, continued to promote “Trump and his commentary, including repeating his political messaging.”

Attacks on Biden and his son, Hunter, were part of this operation. Through “US officials and prominent US individuals, some of whom were close to former President Trump and his administration,” the report says Russia’s intelligence services “repeatedly spread unsubstantiated or misleading claims about President Biden and his family’s alleged wrongdoing related to Ukraine.” In this way, Trump’s circle “laundered” the Russian-planted stories, which were then recirculated—and promoted by Russia’s online proxies—as American news.

In the late winter / early spring of 2020 U.S. intelligence caught Russian agents and intercepted
electronic "stuff" that showed Russia was working to make Bernie Sanders the nominee of the
Democratic Party over Joe Biden and passed that information onto the proper Congressional
committees. And what did TFG do? He fired the U.S. intelligence agents who in doing their jobs
and caught the Russian attack on America's elections.

We need to see the unredacted Mueller Report and hear and or see the complete transcript of
TFG's call to Zeleneskyy where Trump tried to black mail Zelenskyy into making up dirt on Joe

Especially liked the part:

"The report doesn’t name the Americans who collaborated with the Russian agents, but it’s easy to identify them from news reports. Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, met with Derkach twice. Donald Trump Jr. promoted Derkach’s tapes. Trump’s 2016 campaign manager, Paul Manafort, gave Kilimnik inside information on the campaign. Trump, in a 2019 phone call, pressed Ukraine’s president to open an investigation of Biden, as Derkach proposed. And congressional Republicans, led by Reps. Jim Jordan and Devin Nunes, parroted a Russian-planted narrative “to falsely blame Ukraine for interfering in the 2016 US presidential election.”

Yesterday, out of morbid curiosity, I watched its coverage — for about five seconds.

The first time the studio “talent” and an “expert” were pessimistic and disparaging of Ukraine’s chances.

The second time was that disgusting Jesse Watters creature, who was getting on Biden about not owning an electric car. Watters brought up (and mocked) the fact that Biden has the presidential limo (the Beast) — the same limo that Trump had, and played a clip from 2016 when Biden was on “Jay Leno’s Garage” with his Corvette, which he also doesn’t drive around much anymore (if I understood Jen Pataki). The point? Other than a sad attempt to bash Joe? Beats me.

Finally, I found the intestinal fortitude to watch Tucker, after listening to Nicolle Wallace’s conversation with Jonathan Karl. Tucker was spreading the U.S.-Ukraine chemical weapons lab BS pretty thick, playing some clip of an NSA spokesperson “confirming” it.

These are seditionist, treasonous Fifth Columnists who are also destroying the country, if not the world. It is truly frightening how many people here in the U.S. are being deceived by this. Straight out if Putin’s disinformation playbook.

They are desperate to worship a man who presents himself as strong and forceful, and as long as he flatters their ignorance, their cruelty, their bigotry, and their fantasies of victimhood, they will continue to worship him until the very last of them is dead.
