I didn't know how this went till now.

Rep. Greene complained to Alex Jones that she has lost her entire congressional salary due to her refusal to comply with the mask mandate on the House floor. Each violation of the mask mandate costs Greene $2,500.

In major team sports, fines are used to fund the leagues' charity arms.
Players who are fined get to take that deduction. So, they don't pay taxes on money they didn't actually get.
I guess it depends on where the Speaker directs that fine money.
I'd be ok if she gave it to Planned Parenthood!.
Yeah, mtg would avoid the taxes but she'll have donated to PP. That's a kick in her rear!

15. My Concern With That Idea

If it's recycled to Treasury, a case could be made that she didn't actually earn the salary. Hence, not taxable.
I'm not a tax accountant, but it seems like the fines would have to repurposed in some way to be taxable.

She will keep disrupting and making an ass out of herself because she has no committee assignments, nothing to do all day while she's in DC, so she keeps squawking for attention so the rubes will send her more money. And they will.

Given the details we know about Greene's life, it appears that she has been irresponsible for a long time. Personal growth is unlikely a strong suit for her.

Her district is heavily red, if I remember right that she is in northern Georgia. So, she could live off of her "fame" for quite a while unless they get sick of her.
