Reason 7,567,325,529,436 that the MSM sucks

Lindsey Graham. Saw the media showing him attacking Joe Biden for letting "Russia walk all over us" about Ukraine.

You can tell when Lindsay's false outrage juices get flowing, because he starts hissing like an angry pitt viper.

The media will show a clip of this, and then highlight that "this is the way Retrumplicans intend to attack Biden over Ukraine".

That's it! That's the "big story".

Doesn't matter that there is no truth to it.

Doesn't matter that the guy who said it is in Putin's pocket.

That's not the story. The story is simply the strategy.

You can tell this, because when the media reports on this, it goes like this:

"Retrumplicans plan to attack Biden on Ukraine, will it work?"

That's it! No discussion of whether it's really a valid attack. That's not important. The attack, and whether or not it will work, or how clever and savvy it is...THAT'S THE STORY

You might think that some reporter would point out that the man making the attack had an opportunity to stand up for Ukraine, but instead, turned yellow and voted to acquit the monster that extorted and weakened Ukraine.

Anyone that allows Lindsey Graham, or the Retrumplican Party to "pretend" they care about Ukraine, without pointing out their role in extorting them, is NOT doing their job.

It's really not a far stretch to say that Retrumplicans shouldn't even be able to have an opinion about Russia and Ukraine, let alone be given a platform to spew it.

Watching Lindsey Graham talk about standing up for Ukraine, is like watching Prince Andrew talk about the importance of the talent competition at the Miss Pre-teen Beauty Pageant.

3. How about a link to whatever MSM source where you saw that?

That'd be great. Was it on every media outlet?

Link, please.

5. Could be that MSM, especially broadcast evening news, played a signficant

role, in developing support for Ukraine - across much of the political spectrum.

'The NewsNation poll found strong backing for economic sanctions on Russia, with about 70 percent of registered voters polled saying they support such measures to punish Russian President Vladimir Putin. Seventy-three percent said they support the U.S. supplying Ukraine with weapons to defend themselves.'

7. Exactly. I grow weary of people blaming the MSM for everything.

That's why I asked the OP for a link, which has not yet been posted.

The news media broadcast everything current that seems to be significant. It's, you know, "News."

I'll wait for the OP to post a link, so I can see where this came from.

9. It was on MSNBC and it was him saying that Russia backed us down

in old, beaten Mig 29s being given to Ukraine. He was doing that hissing shit like when Dems made Biff cry about beer.
N
Just him speaking at a podium, I think it was the daily Retrumplican press gaggle. No discussion afterwards about Lindsey and the Retrumplicans complicity in extorting Ukraine and withholding weapons. No discussion of the pro Ukraine links being cut out of the 2016 Retrumplican platform, just "ooohhhh, look at how mad Lindsey is", and "this is the Retrumplican midterm strategy".

10. So, it wasn't the entire MSN, then?

It is news when Lindsey Graham speaks publicly. How much coverage such a thing gets is of more interest.

You saw what he said in one place. I would not generalize that to condemn the entire MSN, or even MSNBC, for that matter. Today, many, many news stories will get covered. That's sort of what the news media is all about, don't you think?

12. No, I've only spent the last 40 years

hearing and seeing the exact same "breaking news" from MSNBC, CNN, FAUX, ABC, CBS, NBC, The New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, HLN, Bloomberg...

So, now, in this instance, I only saw it on MSNBC, but it's early.

Stuff changes constantly, but always there is important and less important news that makes it to the public. Sometimes, we don't know which is which for some time after it appears. The news media show it all, nevertheless. It's what they do.

Will this dastardly villain's strategy work? We have no idea! But gol-durned if we're going to get in his way with any inconvenient facts that put the lie to his bogus story. Tune in tomorrow for when someone even more dastardly (looking at Rubio or Cruz) floats an even more preposterous attack, which we in the major media will refuse to fact check. Then tune in two years from now, when one of our reporters has a book to sell, and he or she will tell the public all about how they knew back then these spurious claims were just so much hot air.

Yeah. MSM suck.

6. Indeed. The msm gives republicans free license to make up anything and it's "breaking news"
Fri Mar 11, 2022, 01:33 PM
Mar 2022

The msm claims it's news because an important person said it.

The msm claims they're reporting facts because it's a fact that someone *said* it; they don't care if *what* they said is a lie.

And then they'll proceed to give it endless airtime and "analysis" and polling and ramifications and so on, when it's all speculation over republican fantasy

Of course, this standard only works for right-wingers. Democrats are routinely ignored or minimized when they dish out facts and ideas.

8. Another similar tactic:
Fri Mar 11, 2022, 01:43 PM
Mar 2022

When repugs do something incredibly vile (like attack the capital, or defend and minimize said attack), rather then report on this terrible action they will frame it as “how will Democrats frame this to their political advantage…?”. Everything is just a big political game. There is no right and wrong, no moral vs. immoral, it’s all just how the political parties will frame it.

"The 2020 Census undercounted minorities by over 20%, how will they parties frame this"?

Between this and reporters interviewing other reporters and presenting it as "news" will be the death of this Democracy
