Missouri Lawmaker Wants Death Penalty For Getting Abortion

So in cases of "life of the mother," the state should KILL HER anyway?

By Aysha Qamar — March 11, 2022

States across the country are introducing and passing legislation to limit abortion access. The moves in Republican majority states follow the passing of a Mississippi law, which is currently making its way to the Supreme Court. The law has the ability to limit abortion rights across the country by overturning Roe v. Wade. The most recent state to join those seeking to backtrack women’s rights is Missouri.

Missouri lawmakers are taking restricting abortion to the next level: They are not only stopping residents from obtaining abortions in state, but suggesting that those who travel in order to obtain them also be subject to lawsuits.

State Rep. Mary Elizabeth Coleman proposed a measure that would make performing an abortion on a Missouri resident—or even helping a Missouri resident get one—illegal. A similar law was passed in Texas, in which citizens were granted the ability to enforce the law through lawsuits.

In past with murder. You know it’s coming. Making a law compelling hospitals to turn over woman’s medical records for evidence.

They are so emboldened now and the crazy zealots have taken over the state legislatures in these red states. I’m hoping that the citizens will wake up and say “ oh hell no” ! But 😢 sadly I have my doubts.

As Mongol soldiers breaking into a Persian astronomer's tower and finding...mathematics. And parchment.

They see the word "pregnancy" and say "Oh my GOD, we have to save it!"

Without the slightest clue of what "ectopic" means, for the embryo OR the mother.

And these assholes wouldn't care anyway..."It's HER fault, she SHOULD die!"

for seeking out of state abortions. Mary Elizabeth Coleman insists forcing people to give birth to and raise children against their own will is good for them.

if we could appeal to the professional athletes in these states, most of which are good people, to not perform on their scheduled dates of endeavor, then we might be able to make a dent in these actions against women. They have immense power because a great many men just cannot live without their scheduled sports-ball.

Any law relating to personal healthcare decisions be reviewed by a panel of medical professionals who practice in the specialty of concern and only allow the bill/proposed law to advance to a vote once everyone on the panel agrees to the medical value and necessity of the proposed actions of the law?

Like we now have to prove medical necessity before we can get treatment based on insurance coverage shouldn't a notion like this be proven to be necessary before it becomes law? IDK, just my crazy idea. ❤

Paraphrased from Elie Mystal:

If Americans are going to talk about the constitutional right to an abortion, Americans must talk about it from first principles. And the first principle that the white men who wrote the Constitution missed is that women are people. Full, equal people.

The Equal Rights Amendment was ratified in 1868, dammit, and the problem is that white guys have spent the last 150 year trying to undo it.

But if they believe that -- and a lot of men refuse to, including those on the SCOTUS -- if they believe that women are people, then the right to privacy and all the reproductive rights that flow from it are fairly straightforward.

If they proceed from the premise that "women are people, the idea that women-people have a constitutionally protected right to protect their own reproductive system is entirely obvious.

If anyone doesn't think that the Fourteenth Amendment provided for the full political, civil, and social equality of women, then at core, they don't think women should have equal rights at all.

Conservatives are not dead set for any constitutional amendments, but they are always down for damn near anything that can be used to prevent the government from helping people. Now they criminalize women who have never even been given equal protection under the law.

When it comes to expanding rights, there's really only one amendment that conservatives are interested in: fetal personhood.

The movement afoot to recognize the unborn as "people" entitled to certain rights are the very same people who deny women equal protection under the ERA & Fourteenth Amendment, and would like to grant those rights to the embryos or fetuses attached to those already born women-people. And let's all just forget about those hundreds of thousands of embryo personhoods conservatives are not interested in, who lie frozen in fertility clinics.

on a drive to Arizona, to stay with my best friend, for a time.
He's a Republican, but I trust he is still not a "bat-shit" crazy Republican. He agreed with my assessments against the "libertarian arm" who argued against the Union cause in the civil war as being, well, just plain stupid.

I was "pulled over" in Missouri-- well, not really "pulled over" because my car was already stationary-- I was looking at maps after taking a wrong exit on the highway. I had "CLINTON-GORE" stickers on my bumper. (It was in 1992)

After reassessing my geographical situation, I tossed my roadmap into the backseat, just as a Missouri state trooper pulled up on me. He then accused me of throwing litter out of my car-- as I did my best to restrain my wolf-german shepard, who had been relaxing in the passenger seat, from vaulting over me and tearing the fucker's throat out--( she didn't like uniforms, or bad attitudes either)

I said to the trooper "I did not litter" to which he said "yes you did" to which I said, "well, i did not mean to, if something blew out of my car, I will be glad to come out and pick it up, where is it??" to which he said "well, I don't know". lol

I guess he saw from the corner of his eye, when I threw my map into the backseat, and jumped to conclusions-- and didn't like my bumperstickers. He went away, the situation was inconclusive for him-- but I was victorious, and so was my dog!

(I educated that dog politically-- so that if I said "Republicans", she would begin growling and feeling agressive! good thing for the Missouri state trooper that I did not use that word while Sasha was already pissed off, lol)
