Texas Child Abuse Investigators Told to Make Transgender Cases a Priority
In a court hearing, a supervisor testified that the state agency responsible for child welfare was told to investigate parents of transgender children without exception.

HOUSTON — Child abuse investigators in Texas have been told to prioritize cases involving the parents of transgender children and to investigate them without exception, after the state’s governor ordered certain medical care to be treated as abuse, an investigations supervisor said during a court hearing on Friday.

The supervisor, Randa Mulanax of the Department of Family and Protective Services, testified in an Austin courtroom that the agency was not given the freedom to determine that a given report involving a transgender child was quite likely not in fact a case of child abuse — known as “priority none” status — and that investigators were not able to close the cases.

“I’ve been told about that directly,” said Ms. Mulanax, who has submitted her resignation to the department. “You cannot priority-none these cases.”

Ms. Mulanax’s testimony came at the start of a hearing on Friday over whether investigations into families with transgender children should be halted statewide.

So giving care and looking out for your trans kid is priority one, required investigation, can't close the case... Even though no one is being harmed - in fact, the opposite...

Meanwhile, this is also eating up time and resources from investigating real cases of abuse, because... CPS has their hands full investigating and bullying families that Abbott and Paxton don't like?

Well done... This shit is hurting innocent trans kids and their families, and hurting kids who do need help by not having help available to them?

"Won't someone think of the children?!" You know, some of us are. But there are two children I will not think of - they're named Greg and Ken and NEED TO GROW UP and quit being fascists!

Bullies are Warriors of Gawd. The hierarchy must be maintained.

Mercy is a weakness. Tolerance of others leads to acceptance of sin. Love is just a byproduct feeling of sex - in women, it means she agrees to submit to a man in hopes he'll take care of her, in men, it means he agrees to accept any children as his that might occur when he indulges in his manly right to f*** when he feels like it.
So in their eyes, it is far more dangerous to love and support a child that does not confirm to their standard of gender than it is to beat, starve, or sexually groom that same child to force it to submit to a proper life as the "good Christian slave of Gawd" it was born to be.

And I like how you spelled it "Gawd" and not "God"... After all, if there is a God (I'm agnostic, I admit), these people sure don't believe in "God", because there is nothing "Godly" about them...

But it's something I've seen from my so-called "friends" since coming out myself.. Bullying is strength. Mercy is weakness. Cruelty shows power. Kindness shows your weak. And so on..

Then toss in the arrogance and narrow-mindedness of so many of them, who not only think they're right, but that they have the right to control everyone else. Toss in an unhealthy dose of bigotry and hatred for anyone who isn't like them, and you get a modern day Republiqan.

Good point also on bringing up the unhealthy views that a lot of people have about both sex and love. That for many people, "love" is a byproduct or something that only matters when it's convenient. Sex isn't about love, or even lust... It's about power.

How many see kids as property or someone to live through vicariously, not a living being with their own mind and heart and soul? "Damnit, why are you going to medical school?! I wanted you to be the next QB of the Dallas Cowboys!!"

So mix all of them together.. What you get are sick, mean, bigoted adults that only care about those who fit their view, and who hate and want to control "the others." Which is bad enough is a society... Worse when these monsters are in government.

Terrifying we reached this point. And it's certainly made for some very terrifying and upsetting times for a lot of us, because we have an entire political party in this country acting as the party of cruelty, bigotry and hate.

First off, keeping things off the books is unethical and should be illegal. Second off, what kind of things are they actually investigating? What is the concern? Are any of the children being removed? If they are, there should be court hearings happening with Judges making decisions regarding removal. If there are cases being filed, they have to be adjudicated as Wards or somehow being put under the supervision of CPS. Are any of these hearings occurring. What is happening is a mockery of how the child welfare system is supposed to work. This all needs to be shut down!
