Does economic and diplomatic pain mean more war or less?

I keep thinking of the term canon fodder. Come on free world!!

The war in Ukraine represents a threat to China’s economy and could lead to a diplomatic backlash over its support for Moscow

When the Russian invasion of Ukraine started two weeks ago, Jane Yan, a senior executive at a machine parts maker in eastern China, said she was not too worried about the impact. After all, buyers in Russia and Ukraine accounted for less than 5 per cent of the company’s overseas sales last year.

... them but not so much it looks like.

Economist see a 10% retraction in a year ... year, not weeks.

~ a 6% retraction in GDP in 08 and 20 for US was a shock but it took nearly a year to get there.

Hopefully cutting the avg RU citz from ATMs and banks etc will help ... we need to see more run on banks

Find themselves on the wrong side of the narrative. It will take awhile for the sanctions and the shaming to ripple through the various financial sectors and some may dodge the bullet, but those who don’t are going to have some headwinds in their future.

I expect that the Russian economy is pretty much screwed for the next two decades as many will either not trust them or have found other places to invest when the dust has settled.
