Just a thought

Make or acquire little stickers of the Ukranian flag and slap them on gas pumps to remind people why they are paying so much for gas

The anger from pumping gas may be redirected when they see a symbol of what others are going through right now

in being told it can always be worse.

Of course I have concern for the Ukrainian people but it isn't really doing anything about the worries I have over whether I should put gas in my car or buy groceries.
