GQP Texas lawmaker introduces bill to allow death penalty for women who have abortions

A Republican lawmaker in Texas has introduced a bill that would allow the death penalty for women who have abortions.

“Today, I filed HB 3326 to Abolish Abortion in Texas,” Texas State Rep. Bryan Slaton (R) said on Twitter.

“The bill will end the discriminatory practice of terminating the life of innocent children, and will guarantee the equal protection of the laws to all Texans, no matter how small," he said.
Under HB 3326, a person who has an abortion or performs an abortion could be charged with assault or homicide, which is punishable by death, the Texas Tribune reported.

How about if you have an abortion you are deemed a witch and then burning at the stake? Who are these Neanderthals?

with a law that only pertained to half of the population. Now if they added emasculation and long prison sentences for the fathers of unwanted fetuses, it would still fall short of just.

There are more women in Texas than men. If the women of Texas are willing to accept that kind of law, who am I to quibble?

Our nation is going insane one state at the time we are going to end up with the type of "freedom" that the far right wants. Orwell warned us, "Freedom is slavery."

their position. They are only against "murder," not killing -- "murder" is shedding "innocent blood," so to them, abortion is murder. The death penalty, though, is justified under God's law, and those who murder do not deserve to live. I study those who describe themselves as abortion "abolitionists" and they believe outlawing abortion entirely and prosecuting/jailing/executing people who try to access abortion or provide abortion care is justified.

makes sense. Just like the wider culture says "innocent bystander" when someone is, say, killed as a crime is being committed nearby, "innocence" is whether you're involved or responsible for the crime being committed.
