(8,052 posts)a photo purported to be of a Russian soldier who was chained to a post by his leg by his superiors so he wouldn't run away, and he froze to death, covered with snow--still holding his grenade launcher. Now, it could be a Ukrainian staged photo, and the guy was shot to death or the chain placed later for propaganda-- but I don't know. Disturbing, though. Definitely not a stretch to think they would be targeting civilians, because they don't seem show their own troops any mercy.

(1,120 posts)military history that would really not be surprising. They have always mistreated, threatened, and recklessly sacrificed their troops. They rely on overwhelming opponents with the shear volume of men and material. As long as the objective is achieved the body count is irrelevant as it's simply the cost of doing business.
