"SNIP.......

On the heels of fresh data showing that the U.S. inflation rate jumped to a new 40-year high last month, a new survey found that more than 80% of American voters believe costs are rising in part because "big corporations are jacking up prices" while raking in record profits.

Released Friday by the advocacy group Fight Corporate Monopolies, the poll showed that 82% of registered U.S. voters blame big companies for at least some of the recent inflation spike and want elected officials to "take on powerful CEOs and rein in corporate greed to lower prices."

"Rising prices is the top economic issue for most voters, and they want elected officials to challenge corporate greed to lower prices," Helen Brosnan, executive director of Fight Corporate Monopolies, said in a statement. "Political leaders should directly address rising prices, release plans to combat corporate greed's role in driving prices higher, and put forth arguments that center CEOs and big corporations."

The new survey, based on a sample size of 1,000 respondents, comes as progressives in Congress continue spotlighting corporate price-gouging as a key culprit behind rising prices nationwide even as the White House abandons that narrative, despite data indicating it resonates with voters.

really cook most things from scratch. I can still get chicken breast for 1.89 per pound (got to feed the three puppers). I buy beef when it is marked down and freeze it. and do the same with pork. I use very few convenience foods which seem to have gone up quite a bit. One of my best finds this year as I am gluten-free so pay more for my flour (no wheat) was a Dunkin Hines pumpkin cake mix after Christmas. They sold them at Ollies for 80 cents...I use them to make muffins mostly. I couldn't buy the ingredients for homemade this cheaply and gluten-free stuff is generally not full of crap too. I have had no issues. I have not raised my budget at all.

given to the American People to cope with the pandemic. The way to our back pockets was to take the opportunity to raise prices and create false product shortages to justify the higher prices.

That's what Corporate America does.

Can't get people to believe it's Biden's fault?

We remember the twice impeached buffoon that preceded President Biden Him and his Party set the table for Putin's power grab. The Anti-Democratic Party.

I confess I didn't read the article I love common dreams, but when I read their articles, I read it knowing that the orientation is from my point of view. I never expect an objective analysis. Not saying they never offer objective analysis, but I'd have to spend more time fact checking their "statements of facts" or their polling results on just about everything. I was once an avid reader.

I don't now recall when I drifted away.. what exactly made me start questioning, but at some point a few years back I just never bothered reading their links any longer.

My intuition ion this story is pure speculation. I suspect they only polled a certain faction of our culture, and that faction would be the tribe we identify with and are populated with folks with a healthy degree of common sense, which the viewers of faux news et al do not possess. Obviously or they wouldn't be religiously tuned in to their ignorant enabling propaganda generating machines.

at least half of that 80% will vote for Republicans in November because they are too stupid to understand the difference between the parties. Either that, or their religion tells them banning books, banning abortions, and hoarding guns are the only issues to vote on.
