(51,430 posts)now until the midterms at the least. We should also show photos of the 8 GQP reps who went to visit Putin on July 4th. We must rub their noses in their own shit. Traitors! Greedy traitors.

He hadn't been in office for long, had he?

(8,049 posts)The tagline was "Pepperidge Farm remembers", by some old guy with a New England accent.

(6,435 posts)That would be my guess if you've never heard of the PF commercials. Or you could be from another country? Or lived without TV your whole life?

... never heard of the PF commercials.
I see them. Not familiar with this one.
I have PF Farmhouse white bread in my freezer.
Or you could be from another country?
Born and grew up in western Pa
Or lived without TV your whole life?
We got a TV when I was 10, around 1956.
Had a TV 90% of my life.

(6,435 posts)I barely had tv growing up. I'm in my 50s. The "Pepperidge Farm remembers..." commercial blanketed the airwaves for YEARS. If you've never seen that series of commercials and didn't get the reference, i just don't know what to say. It was so ubiquitous, it was a longstanding joke punchline...

(7,715 posts)I don't remember it at all. You must have a very interesting life if this is what you remember!
To quote you, "I just don't know what to say."
To me, the topic of the OP is relevant...not some commercial. And this picture is far more relevant to the topic:

(6,435 posts)The OP prefaced the post with the Pepperidge Farms slogan. Another poster responded asking "what does this have to do with Pep Farms?". I responded. That poster was incredulous that i was surprised they had never seen the ad. So were you apparently. I was merely responding to a question and then responding to the response. This is a discussion forum after all. Sorry, i thought we were discussing...

(7,715 posts)If you want to obsess about Pepperidge Farms commercials (which, at best, are mediocre), go right ahead.
There are far more important things going on.

TV commercials obviously don't make an impression on me.

(28,406 posts)From the 1950s-'90s. Pepperidge Farm started as a New England company, so maybe they were played more locally in New England, but the original company was sold to Campbell's Soup in 1961, so I doubt it. My bet is that as a child you focused on other things than bread commercials, and the same was true as an adult.
