FL absentee ballots... good news!

FL has 1.1 million absentee ballots in. About 1.5 million not returned yet (have till oct31). Over 9 million expected total vote. Usually the Rs kill Dems on absentee ballots, but much closer this time... Dems closed about 85% of gap. 79% are from white non-hispanic, 8% from African American, and 9% Hispanic. So, the race is close even before Dem strength is counted. But wait, theres more! About 65% of the Hispanic vote is from Miami-Dade, with large Cuban-American population. Tampa and Orlando also have large Hispanic populations, that lean more heavily Dem.

Early voting started today, I have heard turnout was large. Tommorrow will be a strong day for Dems - it is the only Sunday of early voting and African Americans have big voting push after church. Democrats know what is at stake, and enthusiasm is high. Looking good!

I believe it's because they were all rich Cubans who had to flee Cuba when the people of Cuba had the good sense to overthow Batista. I believe most of them were part of Cuba's 1% and they were closely associated with Batista. So they had to get out or they probably would have ended up dead eventually.

First generations are solid republican, each successive generation is more Dem. In Tampa, where Cuban immigration came in 1880s, Hispanics of Cuban heritage are reliably blue. They no longer even call themselves hyphen-Americans, just Americans. Even second and third generations in Miami Dade tend Dem. The old meme of all Cuban Americans being solidly red no longer is true.

You guys have a Tea Party governor and corruption is rampant. I mean when it comes to Dem votes.

Also, I think they stop early voting 3 days early.

Rev. Sharpton is there. That feels good.

The Sunday before election day, when many African Americans usually voted, was eliminated. They are PISSED! They are doing a big voter push to the polls tommorrow.

But in FL early voting has always favored Dems. Absentee voting has always been strongly R, but it looks like Dems have closed the gap tremendously this year.
