4. I don't think Putin ever took TFG seriously except as his useful idiot

and maybe the occasional source of classified information. And I don't think it was TFG who made Putin think Ukraine would be a cake walk; it was the combination his own delusions of grandeur along with the members of his own inner circle who were afraid to tell him the truth - just like TFG's own stooges who were afraid to tell him the truth about the election. TFG was just Putin's tool to try to weaken the US and NATO, which ultimately didn't work.

But Putin, like TFG, are very reliant upon "the blame game" and Trump will be such a delicious target for Putin at some point.

I do believe that TFG played a significant role, wittingly or not, in the circumstances leading to Putin's decision to invade.

The recent letters released show that the FSB believed the Russians would be greeted as liberators. Putin is blaming the FSB, which is why the head of the agency has been purged.

Like TFG, nothing is ever Putin's fault. Putin has jailed/confined a number of generals but Putin needs a better scapegoat and TFG fits the bill
