Not surprised. It's hard to turn your back on all the adulation.

(63,221 posts)I was kind of just hoping he would fade off into the sunset. Living in Boston, I was tired of constantly hearing about every little move he made.

(10,885 posts)I have to say I agree with you, smirky. He left here with nary a look back to seek greater adulation elsewhere, so he's persona non grata to me now. He may be the GOAT, but he had really "gone Hollywood" his last few years in Boston and had lost the unpretentious charm he once had. I lay a lot of that blame on Gisele, to be honest.
In the meantime, "In Bill We Trust" and I have high hopes that Mac Jones will continue to develop into a stellar QB for the Pats. There's always someone younger, stronger, better, etc. throwing for the end zone.

(182,603 posts)I am not sure what his receivers will be like. He had one ONE top flight downfield receiver at New England,Randy Moss, and they win every game except the last one - and that was a fluke.

(64,852 posts)But, they had some wonderful route runners with great hands playing the slot for years & good to great tight ends.
If that an ace deep threat each year, they might have won 10 SBs.

(64,852 posts)Favre did it every year. Brady did it once, now.
And, Green Bay used to have to court & coddle Favre each year to coax him back. TB didn't have to beg.
Some here may not like Brady, and that's fine. But, it's not like the Favre thing.

(64,852 posts)It's not the same, by simple numbers. Favre did it every year for 5 years to the Packers and once to the Vikings.
