then there's the stockings, pouch, banners & belts...

When I was in Edinburgh I never got around to asking where the Scots bought their historical clothes.

I found said it is an English name, derived from the French word, petite, but that the Petty family lived among Anglo Saxons.

The Petty family did have a castle in Scotland, but it was raided by the Macintoshes.

Doesn't look like there is a Scottish Petty clan, so maybe no tartan.

apparently there is not a tartan for the Petty family name.

According to sources that I found, the Petty family were English. They had a castle in Scotland, but it was raided and taken over by the Scottish Macintosh clan.

I have both English and Scottish ancestry, too, and was able to find the tartan for the Scottish clan in my family, but there is nothing on the Petty name in the listing of clan tartans.

Spencer apparently has a clan and tartan. The clan tartan is really cool looking. Spencer tartan is kinda boring.
