WTF? The big, bad invader Putin asks China for military help?

It's not supposed to work like that. If you have the chutzpah, the cojones, the confidence to roll your tanks and troops unprovoked over your "weak" neighbor's border, you're not supposed to have to go begging to a friend for help because you're getting your ass fought to a standstill.

Hahahahahahaha. Go Ukraine.

The Kremlin says Russia has not asked China for military assistance and has sufficient military clout to fulfil all of its aims in Ukraine in time and in full.

to get involved in that mess. He and Putin are alleged to have made a pact but it's beginning to be pretty clear that this miscalculation by Putin raises the question whether his days in the Kremlin are numbered.

This Ukraine misadventure is not working out well and won't end well as Russia is committing brutal and bloody war crimes so even if they prevail after a hard fought and extended struggle, Putin's image on the world stage is that of a bloody war criminal.

Forces within the Kremlin are not unaware of that and will eventual make a move.

No, Xi will not get involved in being seen as aiding Putin's war crimes.

Not agreed Xi isn't smart. You don't survive that long in Beijing at the top of the heap, and recently having just gotten life tenure, and not be a smart cookie.

If he can get them in as allies, he knows the world is much more reluctant to deal sanctions on them. If nothing else, he might have a survivable economy with China as a trade partner.

I don't think it will work but that seems to be the play

He and Putin want to shift world power to autocratic dominance. They want to be the sole 21st century superpowers.

Now Putin has caused a PR problem for China.

Xi may try for some middle ground? Help Putin with the money/sanction end of things but not the war directly.

I don't know what he will do.

let's not forget that Xi asked Putin to wait until after the Olympics before invading Ukraine.

Also, pre-invasion, Russia and China did sign a cooperation agreement, maybe Putin is using this agreement to push Xi for help?

China's ambition to be the economic engine of the world is the only thing holding them back form allying with Russia.

Even considering that, if a NATO versus Russia WW3 breaks out in Europe, China and possibly India could side with Russia. Then my friends we in the West will be in deep shit. It is not a stretch of the imagination to see not only free Europe but North and South America to be under attack by this new Axis of the Far East.

the environment around the world is touched by fallout. Plants, animals and people will die and who knows how long it takes for nature to correct the mess Putin will have started.

So we know this, or at least we should, so to think Xi is going to get involved in that is crazy. He's no dummy. He's like Biden in that respect. Nuclear war destroys the planet, it doesn't stay local in Europe or North and South America.

Get real, man.

The plan was for Putin to take Ukraine, then China would take Taiwan.

Putin has but a damper on China's plans for now.

But yes China might help Putin weather the sanctions.

I don't know how much China wants to take on bad PR.

social media to fill the void in between misreporting on the war itself.

Islamic radicals in nations without nuclear weapons far less threat to world peace than Christian radicals in powerful nuclear America.

And where is the outcry over the white Christians killing white Christians war???

Would think there would be an outcry?

They like selling stuff to the world and probably won't be sending any military aid to Russia. They have sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine and publicly expressed sympathy for Ukrainians.

Russia is largely going solo on this with help from minor players like Belarus and Syria but no major powers.
