Do they not understand that buying oil and gas from russia kills civilians in Ukraine? Paying 5x for oil is still so much better than being killed. Bonus - the embargo will likely be temporary and will result in quick removal of putin. I get it, the embargo will cause global recession, maybe worse than 2008 but it may help avoid world war iii and that will be infinitely more expensive.
