1. He armed the insurrectionists? Or he armed the representatives he was with?

I don't think he (or any member of Congress) has any business carrying in the Capitol, but he was hiding with the rest of Congress, not out leading the insurrection in his wheelchair.

I'm sure you aren't the only person who read it that way, and I'm sure there are some big Twitter accounts who will retweet it interpreting that way as well. Twitter can be a big game of telephone.

and had advance knowledge that the Capitol would be invaded. He didn't call the cops because he was in on the treason.

Unless we're told differently - the inference is that Cawthorn was arming fellow legislators or guards (with what I have no earthly idea). But then - is Madison strictly known for the veracity of his statements at all times?

7. Unfortunately, your not right. Members of Congress can possess firearms on most of the Hill

They can not possess a firearm on the House or Senate Floor or it’s adjoining rooms. If Cawthorn possessed a firearm on the Floor of the house, he was in violation of Traffic Regulations on Capitol Grounds.

It’s not a Felony for a Member of Congress. It is a felony for you or me.

The one thing that our neofascists are not is smart. They let their bravado cloud their already-dwindled craniums.

Please let there be a reckoning.

The reference to arming others does need to be fleshed out.

“ According to a 1967 regulation, members of Congress are exempt from a federal law banning firearms on the Capitol grounds
, though it still bars weapons from being carried on the House floor.

"The Huffington Post earlier this week reported that a spokesperson for Cawthorn confirmed he had a gun with him on the day of the attack.

"Metal detectors have now been installed outside the House chambers, to the consternation of some GOP lawmakers who have been walking around them to reach the floor. "

I suspect the gun-humping rube Congressman commonly carried gunz into Capitol, and everywhere else.

But only when they enter the Floor of the House.
