I'm thinking that was at the tail end of Vikki's reign.

(17,133 posts)I was watching a documentary yesterday that mentioned in Victoria's reign, the British Empire was about 30% of the known world or maybe 40%.

And as I look at the map I believe it represents every country or territory that was EVER under Brit rule, whether part of the empire or not.

(15,169 posts)Constantly at war without and within. Even the internal Roman Empire seemed to be seething with wannabe tribunals, emperors. Not sure I'd like to be at the top of that heap, for very long.
