Any wheat farmers here? When will Ukraine have to plant to have crop this year?

If, hopefully, Putin is gone in time, The US could send some wheat farmers and equipment.
The horror in Ukraine is bad enough by itself, but the coming famine will kill countless more.

Winter wheat goes in around October 15th. Summer wheat goes in around March 15th. Right now Winter wheat's in the fields, though I would not be at all surprised if Ukrainians are torching their fields to keep them out of the hands of the Russians.

I doubt much summer wheat will be planted given the war.

In North America, 75-80 percent our crop was in the fields last fall.

Therefore, we will not see a larger crop until July 2023.

Corn is planted in the spring, so we may be seeing a lot more corn bread soon.
