In 2019, Russia was the world's biggest exporter of Wheat ($8.14B), Semi-Finished Iron ($6.99B), Coal Tar Oil ($4.49B), Raw Nickel ($4.03B), and Nitrogenous Fertilizers ($3.05B)


That nickel is crucial for EVs. Much of the wheat winds up in India and North or East Africa. The fertilizers go worldwide--production requires a lot of energy, the raw materials are pretty much natural gas and air, and so it's easier to make the fertilizer and export it than export the energy itself.

probably.

But winter wheat'll be harvested first, and that was in the ground in the fall. Winter wheat's typically more desirable for leavened breads anyway.
