make me more hopeful, but also not less. The west has shown an ability to navigate complexity reasonably well over the past century. I suspect the "golden bridge" is achievable while also preserving Ukraine's independence, albeit not without significant cost -- as we already know and have seen -- to Ukraine and Ukrainians.

I have confidence in and trust Biden and NATO to find a way through this complex nightmare. Unlike, Putin's autocracy, our side isn't wearing blinders.
