I think the Senate just passed a bill to make daylight savings permanent.

WASHINGTON, March 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate voted unanimously on Tuesday to make Daylight Savings Time permanent, a move supporters say would make winter afternoons brighter and end the twice changing of clocks.

The measure still needs approval from the U.S. House of Representatives and the backing of President Joe Biden. On Sunday, most of the United States resumed Daylight Savings Time, moving ahead one hour. The United States will resume standard time in November 2022.

Senator Marco Rubio said after input from airlines and broadcasters that supporters agreed that the change would not take place until November 2023.

It would mean the sun would not even rise until 9AM in December where I live.

Sweet Jeebus....

If they do this, I want my state moving to central time. What a load of BS.

I, too, find the time changes annoying but I suck it up and deal with it.

My husband works in IT and when GWB cavalierly moved the time changes to different weekends with the stroke of a pen, it caused a lot of trouble for his company to quickly update all the software they produce.

and was granted a request not to participate in the program. I was in elementary school and do not recall all of the pros and cons of the arguments. Let the states decide what works best for them.
