These two young people, Avi Schiffmann and Marco Burstein, students at Harvard, in just three days

have developed and launched the website https://www.ukrainetakeshelter.com/, a website in 12 languages where Ukrainian refugees fleeing war can immediately find hosts with free rooms, apartments unused in resorts, big or small cities or school dorms.

Pass this information to other Ukrainians, who are now in European countries and not only, but also to those who would like to be a host to these people in need.

Sidebar: Avi Schiffmann & Daniel Conlon did that for COVID, too, with Google's databases.

It's still up and updated every hour, and added a vaccination data section. We've been using it since 2020.

He did it on his own when he was in high school, after teaching himself web design from YouTube tutorials. The website was one of the first to track Covid-19 data from around the world. Avi was interviewed on Democracy Now about it.

Thanks for posting this.

I've signed up to share my home on another site and wanted to add this one, but each time I clicked on the link I got a 404 message.

If you want to fix it:

The problem seems to be that a comma is included as the last character in the link you posted. I entered the address on google minus the comma and it works fine. I know people can do that on their own, but it is probably worth correcting in case someone wants to offer shelter, doesn't notice the comma and can't reach the site.

I'm posting the corrected address below, but your post is at the top of the thread so it is probably good to correct it for those who aren't going to scroll through the entire thread. Don't know why my link doesn't take you directly to the site, but it is correct.
