(70,447 posts)... the evidence of Trump's trying to blackmail Zelenskyy by blocking military aid to the Ukraine.

(70,447 posts)... if McConnell hadn't blocked the information on just how much help Trump was knowingly
getting from Russia in 2016 from getting out. Obama dropped the ball on that one. America
needed to know that Trump was an active Russian asset. Although, I think 25% of Americans
would still have been good Trump and Russia because he scratched their racist itches.

(6,535 posts)I hope he gets everything he deserves for his long career of public disservice (in Hell).
P.S. Does this creepazoid have a dental phobia? Those are some of the ugliest teeth I've ever seen on a person who could afford a fuckton of cosmetic dentistry without blinking an eye.
I sympathize deeply with those who can't afford to fix unattractive teeth. (Been there, done that, got a drawer full of tshirts.) But CHOOSING to walk around with such disgusting teeth when you don't have to is something I can't even fathom.

(10,409 posts)Went to breakfast with my aunt after her cataract surgery follow-up this morning. The diner seated us near the TV showing Faux News with the follow-up to Zelenskyy's speech. Steve Scalise, Elise Stefanik, and Kevin McCarthy were criticizing the Biden administration for not doing enough, blah blah blah. Then Pence came on and did the same thing. Auntie and I were rolling our eyes saying that they should STFU because they voted to acquit TFG over the Ukraine debacle.

(10,409 posts)We would have, but it kind of would have been useless. The diner was pretty empty.

(35,619 posts)that is the best operation. Your aunt is going to be so happy with the results.
It runs in my family. I had to have it at a fairly early age. I had excellent doctors. The only bad part was the doc prescribed an eye drop that was something like $125 for just a little supply (and I needed several bottles), but this very special person who worked for the doc and with whom I had a good relationship was able to get me samples to get me by.
Now one thing is that sometime later it reoccurred so I had to go back. It was a little scar tissue and all they did is zap, zap with the laser and I was good to go again.

(10,409 posts)She had the right eye done on the 1st. Left eye yesterday. She's about to turn 82 and probably in better shape than me. We stopped at Walgreens on the way home to get her some reading glasses, because her old prescription glasses were too strong.
My husband, who just turned 59, had one removed in February. He's eager to get the other eye done, but the doctor says that it's not ready yet.

(27,794 posts)I am nearsighted and have to decide if I want to have more distance vision and use glasses to read, or to still be nearsighted (bit not quite as much) and use glasses to drive (pretty sure it will be the latter since I like to read in bed).
I am excited.

(35,619 posts)I don't even like using glasses to read. Besides that, I look good in glasses, or so people tell me.
There were so many things I liked about this operation. For one thing, and I don't know if this goes for vision practices in general, but the various offices I went to were visually exciting. I'm a person who likes visual esthetics. One office was decorated in pale blue with silver accent. It was like being in an ice palace! There were sparkles all over the place.
In another, there were interesting abstract art paintings.
The surgery office was visually interesting, too, but not like the others. In this place you could watch them doing the cataract operation on a computer monitor right next to you. The doc would even explain it while he worked if you wanted.
I didn't feel any pain from the procedure at all. There is a "cold" feeling on some of it, but I found it enjoyable.
At every step of the way, I was treated thoughtfully and with care. I wish everyone could have such a good experience.
And I hope you have a good experience, LisaM!

(6,268 posts)I chose to wear glasses for driving and dont wear them inside my house. Reading, cooking, computer work: no glasses. Outside I wear the kind that turn into sunglasses. It is fabulous. I spent the first few years just looking at everything. I had no idea that my vision had been so clouded.
