Republicans attempt to attach liberal democracy to pedophilia

Heather Cox Richardson: Letters from an American

She covers a lot of topics in this letter, all of them important, but this is a stomach churning abomination by conservative political and religious leaders that seemed to have begun with Putin.

'In 2013, Putin shored up his waning popularity by passing legislation that banned allowing children to see “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations,”...He equated modern liberal democracies, with their defense of the rights of all, with pedophilia."

'American evangelicals embraced that connection. Franklin Graham wrote: “In my opinion, Putin is right on these issues…. [H]e has taken a stand to protect his nation’s children from the damaging effects of any gay and lesbian agenda.”

'...senator Rick Scott, has provided a blueprint for what the Republicans will do if they get a majority...“An 11-point plan to rescue America,”'

“The nuclear family is crucial to civilization, it is God’s design for humanity, and it must be protected and celebrated...The fanatical left seeks to devalue and redefine the traditional family...To protect the family, the Republican plan calls for destroying the business regulation, social safety net, federal promotion of infrastructure, and protection of civil rights that Americans have embraced since the 1930s and handing power over to the wealthy.

Sorry, fictional characters do not get a say. Go believe over there and leave nonbelievers alone.

If God is omnipotent and homosexuality is not his design for humanity why would he create so many of his creatures that are homosexual?

10. The nuclear family is not critical to civilization. The generational family is.

Nuclear families are one and done families.
Jack and Jill get married, move out of their parent's house, start a family of their own, then kick their kids out when those kids leave for college, get a job, or get married.
No one goes back to the parent's house. No one keeps anything of value to pass down, because a Nuclear family is built on a consumer cycle...
When the last kid leaves, Jack and Jill sell their big family home to the next couple, Carl and Karen, then downsize either to a single home if they decide to stay together, or separate homes if they don't. Anything that might be passed down, like sturdy excess furniture, kid's collectables, or vintage clothes, are either sold cheap to get rid of it or put into storage, so those items are either removed from the family or become a long-term cost to the parents who generally end up dispose of them, creating a disposable civilization where very little has enough value to be saved.
The idea of "family" in a nuclear family is pretty much transactional. In a nuclear family community, the community is no longer based on generational families coming together to support and build off each other, the nuclear family is there to buy, spend, dispose, then leave, so a new family can come in after them to do the same thing.
The only value goes to those corporations that put themselves in the middle of the transactions, knowing full well that there is nothing of lasting value than these families will be able to hold on to, nothing to really build generational savings or wealth as was accomplished in previous generations. No family stories or morals to pass down, no neat, quirky artifacts to pass down.
Just get married, have kids, kick them out to win or lose on their own when they're grown, then move on spending your money on "what you deserve" until you die.
That's the basis of the Nuclear Family.
