Putrid put up a sugar ration because of his war of genocide against the Ukrainians and now this
Was reading some of the post and it looks like sugar is bought in Russia by the multiple KGs because they use it a lot of preservation and even Vodka making.
Good, if avg RU citz can feel the effect of Putrid's actions then that's good ... Putrid's stupidity needs to be felt by all of Russia just not the oligarchs.

The sanctions, the PR goes, are unprovoked and entirely planned, with the denazification of Ukraine merely the pretext for doing what the west has been looking for an excuse to do for a long time.
With this needs to go the realization of what's caused the sanctions. And after years of conditioning, that'll be hard for many Russians to shake. The USSR made them paranoid, there was a brief respite where there was a lot of deprivation and organized crime, then the drumbeat of paranoia began again. Authoritarian states these days must always be able to claim they're protecting their citizens. Keep them afraid of enemies, external and internal; afraid and worried about things beyond their control, whether a virus or disinformation or corrupt officials, but be sure to say that you're there to help and *can* help. The contract frays if you don't convince them that you're the only real option--again, you don't have to be a real option, maybe you're making things worse, but as long as they *believe*.
Bread, circuses, and, importantly, make sure they know they're not responsible but you'll take care of them. There's a reason that Lenin wanted to ban Dostoevsky.

(2,778 posts)"NEW YORK, March 17 (Reuters) - At least five vessels are headed toward Russia with nearly 200,000 tonnes of Brazilian raw sugar sold by European traders, according to shipping data seen by Reuters, about double the country's normal annual imports of the sweetener."
snip
"Sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine have boosted demand for sugar and other food staples there, and store shelves have been emptying due to food hoarding. Yet sanctions may also make it harder for shippers to get paid for their cargoes."

"Russia was expected to import only around 100,000 tonnes of sugar in the whole year from all suppliers, not just Brazil, according to data from the International Sugar Organization. Georgia was expected to import 130,000 tonnes."
"Well, all that sugar might land in Georgia, but then it will be sent to Russia," said a U.S.-based sugar trader.
