I believe that we have gotten so upset over this, not because Putin is attacking his neighbor, like he has done before, but because his neighbor is fair skinned and Christian. I could be wrong.

I would ask what is the difference in what Putin has done than what we have been doing all over the world for over a half a century? How many Afghans, including women and children did we bomb their own country, half way around the world, and for twenty years. Where was the outrage? Don't get me wrong. I am not defending Putin, I think that he is a dangerous madman who puts everyone's life in danger in his pursuit of glory. Nor is Putin justified because of what we have done. What I am saying is let he who is without guilt cast the first bomb.

45,000 Americans die each year from gun violence that we inflict on each other, yet we allow that to happen and are, in fact, making it easier and easier. We let people die because they can't afford medical care, and we try to ignore it, or excuse it, we let big money buy our government, we still discriminate against people for their color, language, religion or sexual preference. We inflict the death penalty on our own citizens, and in a very discriminate and disproportionate way, So, why aren't we just a whole nation of Putins?

I hope that the people of Ukraine can throw the Russians out of their country and believe that they can do it. I don't think that we have the willpower to remove our own Fascists. I believe that we are on the verge of getting the government that we deserve. It is coming.

We all have the nuclear gun pointed at each other's head, is that order, is that peace?

Ukraine is one of 40 wars going on in the world today, people are dying in all of them; is that order? In a world of plenty, South Sudan, Yemen, and the northern parts of Ethiopia and Nigeria are on the verge of starvation, more order? We are destroying the ability of our planet to sustain the life of our species, we know it, and we chose to allow it to happen. This current war is the East butting heads with the West, Ukraine is just caught in the middle. In our own nation we have billionaires and people going hungry and without medicine, is that the order you speak of. If we have much more order, it will kill us all, but it will be no great loss.

Order is just another meaningless buzz-word like peace or justice, we like to talk about them, but we don't do anything to sustain them.

Right and wrong are not complicated, and I don't have trouble with the issue. I don't always live up to my expectations as I am a flawed man, but I almost know when I am wrong on issues that matter.

Really important issues have no grey areas, and are just not open for debate, for instance:

It is wrong for a child to go hungry. Always, every time.
It is wrong for a person to be denied health care because they can't afford it.
It is wrong for people to treat others badly.
It is wrong to despise those different from ourselves.
It is wrong to blame others for our own shortcomings.

It is also wrong to accept or turn your back on these types of injustice or blow them off with some lame-ass excuse like it is God's will.

You feed hungry children, wherever they are whatever it costs, what ever it takes, with no excuses for failure. You give a homeless person the same life-saving medical care that a billionaire would get. I hope that that answers your confusion over my position.

If we have to tear down our current system of justice, our current system of politics, excommunicate our current religions, if we have to burn our current flag and move our state or national boundaries to achieve the goals of preserving our world and our civilization and of learning how to treat each other, then we need to get on with it. Our current paths, socially and physically are leading to the destruction of the species. It is within our power to choses our destiny, and in the end, regardless of which way we decide to go, we are going to get what exactly we deserve.

There is very little grey areas in some things I agree.

Its the confused people stuck in the greys sometimes that refuse to accept some things really are that black and white.

Same for Hiroshima & Nagasaki ("they started it in Pearl Harbor"...)

But bush in Iraq... still unpunished... Eric Prince's Blackwater slaughters of innocent civilians... still unpunished.

Afghanistan could also be seen as somewhat "defensive" but I'll stop at that.

So because of all these gun murders in USA we shouldn’t raise an eyebrow to Ukraine bombings.
You make no sense.
The Syrian war and sarin gassing was pretty horrific. They weren’t white Christian.
One reason Putin’s war is much different is he has threatened to use nuclear bombs.

... what when etc.

Ukraine even signed an agreement that they would give up nukes with the promise RU wouldn't attack them.

2. There's no good reason to think Putrid will STOP in Ukraine if he won hands down and these threats will most likely spread to rest of NATO where the other countries didn't threaten NATO outright.

This is in the "West's" back yard and Putler using Hitler's excuses to invade another country didn't help none/

3. This time 3 million displaced outside and 3 million inside UKR in less than a month has created largest humanitarian crises in a century and its growing.

Putrid's willingness to be filmed leveling MULTIPLE cities at one time with artillery for the sake of subjugation isn't winning him any friends.

4. Putrid and China's tacit partnership has Asia warned because of Taiwan making their "pact" look even more dangerous to any world order.

Xi and Putrid listened to MAGA about the west's "weakness's" and are going to have to rethink things but there's no doubt what their motivations are.

I think those are solid reasons why this is different

20. The West helped create Putin.
Sun Mar 20, 2022, 02:04 PM
Mar 2022

Our banking laws, real estate laws, and laws allowing companies within shell companies to hide financial transactions all enabled Putin to rise to power—and Western leaders and politicians turned a blind eye. They knew that Russians were looking their own country and laundering their ill-gotten gains through our financial system and those of EU countries. Many people probably thought that Putin would never be this brutal, though his past wars provided full evidence that he cares nothing for human life or infrastructure. Others knew of Putin’s evil but chose to ignore it because of their own greed.

The Ukrainians are now fighting and dying for the mistakes the West made in sustaining Putin’s power. That is one of the reasons why I think the NATO countries should do everything possible to stop Putin now, short of using nuclear weapons. I think the West has foolishly signaled that we will not enter the war unless Putin attacks a NATO country, which gives him freedom yo do anything he wants to Ukraine. I don’t know how many sanctions are left, but I think at least one of Russia’s major banks is still allowed to use SWIFT. Why? Putin needs to be starved of every resource.
