Anonymous has called for a complete boycott of Nestle products after the Swiss food conglomerate continued to provide essential products to Russia despite mounting pressure from peers to cut ties.

The hacktivist organization took to Twitter on Friday, March 18, to call for the boycott as almost 400 companies announced plans to halt business and operations in Russia. According to a Morning Consult poll from earlier this month, nearly 75 percent of the American population supports the boycott. It's worth noting that Nestle has stopped advertisements, capital investments, as well as shipping non-essential items to Russia. However, it has continued to provide essentials like baby food to the nation, Bloomberg reported.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal revealed on Thursday, March 17, that he spoke with Nestle CEO Mark Schneider "about the side effect of staying in [the] Russian market." Shmyhal wrote, "Unfortunately, he shows no understanding. Paying taxes to the budget of a terrorist country means killing defenseless children & mothers. Hope that Nestle will change its mind soon."

I’ve been boycotting them since the 60’s. They used to send women dressed as nurses into hospitals where they would try to get the new moms to use their formula instead of nursing their babies. So the moms would buy the formula, only to discover how expensive it really was. It was a mess and everyone suffered, except Nestle.

Florida will allow Nestle to continue bottling 1 million gallons a day of spring water for just $115

Nestle Waters North America will be able to ramp up bottling to nearly 1 million gallons of water a day at a North Florida plant after a permit was approved Tuesday over the objections of opponents who said it will continue degradation of the state’s natural springs and rivers.

After hours of public comment, mostly opposed to the proposal, the Suwannee River Water Management District Governing Board approved a permit application from Seven Springs Water Co. that will help Nestle expand its bottled-water operations in Gilchrist County.

Board members said the vote was taken under protest to keep open the ability to challenge an administrative law judge’s recommendation backing the permit. Yet a couple of board members said after the vote the issue has been vetted for nearly two years, and they weren’t ready to spend more on a challenge.

“If we go back and spend thousands of dollars on appeal on a technicality, I'm not in favor of that,” board Member Larry Thompson said.
