Thinking along the lines of supply issues, and perhaps a need to reverse the flow to a now crippled state, could the people of Russia suffer like the soldiers of WWII did in a brutal winter? So maybe looking for certain combinations brought it up. It didn't come up with a search for Upton Sinclair, and he ran as a socialist.

It is hard to image a kingdom as vast as that for the preceding 300+ years. And they still haven't figured out how to do it.
