"SNIP......
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said the Jan. 6 committee is considering recommending enhanced criminal penalties for the kind of supreme dereliction of duty that you saw with President Trump, Axios reports.
Said Cheney: I can tell you I have not learned a single thing since I have been on this committee that has made me less concerned or less worried about the gravity of the situation and the actions that President Trump took and also refused to take while the attack was underway.

We all know how guilty he and his family are and nothing, nothing EVER happens.
Honestly, the wretched monster will die way before anything comes to fruitarian.
Maybe we might get lucky with his evil spawn, but frankly, done holding my breath.

(81 posts)to penalize inaction by a sitting president, not speaking to criminal charges brought under existing law. Remember the J6 committee is not about a criminal investigation, it is about changing legislation to prevent this In the future. As it currently stands, I don't know of any existing law concerning dereliction of duty on the part of the president, so her statement simply reinforces the premise that the committee exist for a legislative purpose. That has been a common line of attack by the GOP.

(1,510 posts). . .NO charges of any kind brought against Trump -- not by DOJ, not by the NY AG, not by Jesus Christ, not by anyone.
Why not? Because to bring charges would be "divisive." And we can't have any divisive court proceedings.
Trump will walk away, reinforced in his belief that he is untouchable -- which he is.

(43,064 posts)"Dereliction of duty" describes his actions. Cheney never gets to his intent, so she doesn't deal with the grand conspiracy planning and assemblage of all the pieces.
"Yeah, that was really bad, we should do something about that next time."

Just my opinion.

"Because the wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine".
"Kind of a lame reason, if you ask me".

(4,298 posts)Get that report out and drill it into everyone's head continuously like they did HRC's emails. Give referrals to Justice and demand action.
People begin to lose interest. Link as much shit to Putin and Trump as possible and keep pressing it. Remind folks that the insurrection was part of the Trum/Putin plan and how Trump tried to shakedown Zelensky. And Please do not leave out the GQP folks in the House and Senate who adore Putin and Trump.
